Frequently Asked Questions
Most prescriptions refills are given during your appointment and should last until your next appointment. Please check with the pharmacy to ensure a refill is not already on file.
Should you require a refill before your next scheduled appointment please access the “existing patient” section of this website or the portal, and include:
- The pharmacy name and address
- The name and dose of the medicine
Please note we are NOT able to process refill requests from pharmacies. Please do NOT have your pharmacy fax us refill requests.
Refills will only be provided if you have a future appointment scheduled. For patients who have missed or rescheduled their last appointment or do not have an appointment scheduled, an appointment must be slated before new prescriptions can be written. Controlled medicines cannot be filled early, with limited exceptions for travel. If you need an early fill of a controlled medicine due to travel, please forward your travel documents with your request.
Stimulant medicines can only be filled 30 days at a time. This is a federal law and we are not allowed to deviate from this. We understand that other practices may do this, but our legal advisors have been very clear on this point.
I need to contact my provider after business hours
If you have a true emergency, please call the office at (405)285-2260, which will put you in contact with the answering service. This is exclusively for emergencies. Please note that prescribers CANNOT refill controlled medicines after hours. This is due to laws that control how these types of medicines are written.
